Tribune by WPZOOM is a responsive theme for online magazines and news sites that comes equipped with a breaking news slider, a carousel slider and a custom video widget.
The theme supports natively three WordPress 3 menus:
- Top Menu – left aligned at the top of the page
- Main Menu – centered below the header
- Footer Menu – right aligned beneath the footer columns

The Tabs Widget Area is not a widget area per se, but an aid to create your own custom Tabs Widget. Creating your tabs widgets is simply a matter of dragging widgets like the Popular Posts and the Recent Comments to this widget area.

The theme extends the Add/Edit Post screen with additional Post Options that allow you to include the post with the breaking news sliders and/or mark the post as featured so that it will appear in the Featured Posts section – at the top of the content area.
The WPZOOM panel includes the Theme Options page and the Update Framework page.
The Theme Options comprehend eight tabs, offering you an easy way to configure the theme:
Your first options at the General settings are uploading your logos for the header and footer as well your favicon. Here you can also enter a custom feed URL and display or hide the Search Form in the header.
The Breaking News options let you configure the Breaking News Slider between the content area and the navigation menu. Disabling this slider is also possible.
With the Global Post Options, you can opt to display excerpts, full content or no content at all – leaving just the post image and the title. In addition, you have the ability to set your desired dimensions for the thumbnails.
The Single Posts Options let check what post info and post meta you want to display, and whether you want to include share buttons and display comments.
At the Sidebar Settings, you have the opportunity to choose between a left and a right sidebar. You can alter the sidebar settings for individual posts.
At the Homepage tab you have the opportunity to set your preference for the Featured Posts as well as the Recent Posts. Disabling these two homepage elements is also a possibility, so that you can build your custom homepage by adding widgets to the Homepage Widget area.

When you check the demo, you will notice that WPZOOM has added Featured Posts Widgets to the Homepage Widget area, and the Carousel Slider to the Footer Full Width area.
The Styling settings offer you the opportunity to customize the colors for the content area background, text logo, sidebar background, footer background, and link colors. The latter in visited and hover state.
In addition, you can style the general text, logo text, homepage featured categories title. post title, individual post title, widget title and footer title. Regarding the font styling you can choose from almost forty web safe and Google web fonts, set a font-style, size and color.
The Banners options give you an easy way to manage the ads in the header, on the homepage, as well as at the top or the bottom of the sidebar.
You first choice at the SEO tab is whether you prefer to use a third party plugin for your SEO or that you want to use the theme’s SEO settings, In the latter case, you can tweak your SEO preferences regarding the title tag, homepage meta, indexing, and canonical URLs.
With the Framework options you can configure some of the WPZOOM Framework options. You can for example disable shortcodes, typography preview, and update notifications for the framework as well as the theme.
The Import/Export options give you the means to backup, transfer and restore the settings of the theme itself as well as of the widgets.
