Goodnews is responsive theme for online magazines, news sites, and content heavy blogs. Version 5 comes packed with Visual Composer, LayerSlider and Revolution Slider. Goodnews is developed by momizat, and available from ThemeForest.
The theme supports five menu locations:

Goodnews extends the WordPress Post page with the following meta boxes:

- Post Settings – hide/show Featured Area, Full Post, Breadcrumb, Post Share, Post Navigation, Author Box, Related Posts
- Review – Style, Units, Box Title, Description, Summary, Score Title, Enable User Rating, Add New Criteria
- Page Layout – Custom Page, full width, tight or left sidebar, variations with two sidebars, select main and secondary sidebar
- Page Background – set background color, and/or upload an image

Besides the options regarding Reviews, a great deal of these settings are also available for Pages, and the Portfolio post type.

The Theme Options Panel comprehends 16 vertical tabs:

Your first option at the General Settings is setting your preferred theme layout; either full (stretched) or fixed (boxed). In additon, you can opt for a left or a right sidebar.
Furthermore, you can enable/diable responsive design, animated icons, breadcrumbs, the author box and Google Maps. Other options include uploading your logo, and favicon and setting up your Twitter authentication.
With the Element settings, you can activate an Alert Bar at the top of the page, enable News in Pictures and News in Tabs.
For the Home Page layout you can opt for a magazine-style layout with news boxes, or a traditional blog-style layout. A magazine-styled homepage can be assembled from the Feature Slider, a News Ticker, a Scrolling Box with slideshows or videos, and up to ten News Boxes (category boxes).
At he Social Network tab, you have the opportunity to enter your URLs regarding Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, Skype, Feedburner, Flickr, Picasa, Digg, Vimeo, and. Tumblr. You can display the social icons in lower left-hand corner or in the upper right-hand corner of the page. In the latter situation, the social icons replace the search box.
The Post Settings allow you to enable full width posts, show or hide the Featured Image, and set the dimensions of this image, tweak the post meta, as well as the Next/Previous post navigation. Last but not least, you can enable the Related Posts section.
With the Article Share options, you decide whether or not you want to display share buttons, and when yes for which networks. Your options are Twitter, Google+, Facebook Like, Facebook share, LinkedIn, Stumble Upon, Digg, Evernote, Reddit, and Pinterest.
At the Typography tab, you can customize your settings for the body text and all the headings; font, size, and color. You can choose from websafe fonts and Google Web Fonts.
Goodnews offers two predefined Color schemes; light and dark. In addition, you can set your preferred color and background for about any theme element.
The Banners Settings offers any easy way to manage the top and bottom banners, respectively Adsense advertisements.
At the Featured Slider tab, you get the opportunity to configure your slider. You can select the source (latest posts, category or tag), and set the animation effects and speed.
Regarding the Category Page you can toggle the Featured Slider, Latest Video Box and Share Buttons.
The Newsticker settings allow you to enable and style the Newsticker. The Newsticker is displayed between the Main Menu and the content area.
At the Contact Forms tab, you can enter the recipient e-mail adddress.
In case you want to include a widgetized Footer on your webpage, you can choose from 1 to 5 colums in a total of 14 different layouts.
The Custom CSS page serves four text areas for you custom CSS, including three for different media queries.
When you rather do not use a plugin for your SEO, you can enter your keywords at the SEO tab.
ThemeForest Goodnews is a very powerful magazine theme with lots of options. Where other authors at ThemeForest rather release new themes, momizat keeps improving this theme; from version 2.41 in early 2012, to the current version 5.8.1. The addition of the Visual Composer allows you to create the custom page you desire.
