Fable by Elegant Themes is a responsive theme for blogs that lets you display your posts on full width Featured Images or use full width colored backgrounds instead.
The Fable theme supports natively one WordPress 3 menu – in the header, directly next to the logo respectively site title.

The theme incorporates three widgetized areas; three Footer columns.
The theme offers the following collection of page templates:
The theme extends the Post and Page options with ET Settings that allow you to assign a background color to the post or page regarding. You can either use this background color or the Featured Image as background for the post or page. In case of a dark background, you can opt for a white font color, and in case of a light background for a dark.
The Fable theme options serve seven vertical tabs:
- General Settings
- Layout Settings
- Ad Management
- Support Docs
On its turn, each of these tab areas serves one or more horizontal tabs.
The General Settings allow you to upload a logo and favicon. Furthermore, you are able to enter the number of posts for the category, archive, search and tag pages.
When you prefer to include you Twitter, Google+ and Facebook link in the header, you can enable that here
Other options include the use of excerpts, enabling responsive shortcodes, a Google Fonts subset.
At the Homepage tab, you have the opportunity to enter the number of posts you want to display on the frontpage.
Within the Navigation settings you can exclude certain pages and categories from the navigation bar, enable the home link and activate the use of dropdown menus.
The Featured Image will show up on index pages, as well as on single post pages. By default, the theme display the author avatar and share buttons to Twitter, Google+ and Facebook at the top of a post – between the full width Featured Image and the breadcrumbs. You can disable this feature at the Layout Settings.
The Ad Management allows you to enable a 468×60 banner which will be displayed on single post pages directly under the post content.
At the SEO page you can alter the default search engine optimization settings; homepage title, homepage meta description, homepage meta keywords, enable canonical URL’s, and enter your custom separation character.
Any tracking code like Google Analytics can be entered on the Integration page.
Fable supports the following WordPress Post Formats allowing you to create Tumblr-like posts:
You can not purchase an individual theme from ElegantThemes, you can subscribe to one of the membership plans.
A Personal Membership is $69 – less than the price of two premium themes. This plan gives you access to all current and future themes as well as to the support forum for as long as you decide to remain a member.
For $89, about the price of two premium themes, you can also opt for a Developer Membership. The Developer plan includes everything the Personal plan offers, plus the PhotoShop (PSD) files, and all premium plugins.
A third option is obtaining Lifetime Access. This membership gives you the same privileges as the Developer Membership, but instead of paying yearly, you pay only one time $249 – less than the subscription fee for three years.
